Strozzi Institute

Strozzi Institute hosts powerful in-person workshops around the world. They were reluctant to move any of their activities online since they have a highly body-centered approach that benefits from physical contact. However, as with so many organizations, the COVID-19 pandemic showed that online courses were not only possible, but could be a desirable addition to their existing offerings.

Authentic Presence was hired to create a series of online offerings beginning with a 4-day retreat with Strozzi Institute Founder, Richard Strozzi-Heckler which was timely as he had just published a new book. Subsequently, we developed an online version of their foundational somatics training and called it Declaring a New Future.

Contemplative Resource Center

The Contemplative Resource Center of Bandera, TX had just purchased land for the retreat center when COVID-19 struck the nation, and suddenly the in-person retreat market evaporated. Authentic Presence CEO and Founder, Brian Spielmann, has a personal connection with CRC’s founding sponsor, the meditation master Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, and when they realized an in-person retreat was not an option, AP helped produce the CRC’s first-ever retreat—in an all-new online format.

David Deida

We partnered with this bestselling author and provocative teacher to turn his most popular book into his first online course. As a first step, to reinvigorate the demand for his products, we created and implemented a lead-generation strategy—including a very successful Facebook Ad campaign—that helped grow his list by 40%. To offset the cost of lead generation, we created a low priced offer by bundling previously released content into an appealing package.

Once we significantly grew his list, we turned his best-selling book, The Way of the Superior Man, into an online course. To create The Way of the Superior Man Online Training, we edited hundreds of hours of raw, live workshop audio into a 12-hour, 8-module program. We attracted more than 500 participants for this first-time program.

Terry Real

When we met Terry in 2015, he was already an internationally recognized family therapist, speaker, and author, and had been successfully leading in-person workshops around the world for decades. Yet, like many of our clients, he was tired of the grind of travel and beginning to feel flat in his teaching.

Together, we explored what topics were lighting him up, and worked to turn those into his first online course, Love & Trauma. We created a course outline and designed and executed a marketing plan, which enrolled more than 500 participants. In the years since, together we have created and sold a membership program and nearly a dozen different online courses that have allowed him to establish recurring revenue, teach from the comfort of home, reach thousands of people, and explore topics and collaborations that are both relevant and timely.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (SPI)

Founded in 1981 by somatic psychologist Pat Ogden, SPI offers high-end training on trauma and attachment for trained psychotherapists. We began our partnership in 2019 when SPI approached us to help expand their offerings and alumni engagement. We started with a deep inquiry process to get to know the brand, including interviewing a dozen senior teachers from around North America and Europe to understand the gaps in the current offerings.

The first program we co-created, a membership site called Applied SP, provided a space for SPI training graduates to gather and continue learning, including directly from the founder, Pat, whom many of them had never had access to. The first year of the program saw 600 alumni join for a year-long journey together.

Our collaboration with SPI continued as we brainstormed, created, and marketed more programs to attract new audiences to the brand — including a 2.5-hour introduction for non-therapists and an 8-hour intro course for therapists. The programs we’ve created with SPI in the first year of working together doubled their email list size, showed a fantastic ROI and positioned the organization for long-term success in their live trainings.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Institute

Richard Schwartz, the founder of the IFS Institue, was already one of the top 5 leading therapists in the world when he and his organization asked us to help them design an online course that didn’t compete with their in-person training.

We worked with Richard and a few of the Institute’s senior trainers to develop a 12-month online program that provided an on-ramp into the IFS Level 1 training. The first year, we enrolled more than 1,000 students from 36 countries — and within a couple of years of launching the program, the IFS Level 1 training was full for years to come.

Next, we created a membership program to more deeply engage the existing student and alumni community. We innovated a program structure that was a win for everyone involved: not too time consuming for Richard, yet offering real value to students through live monthly calls and an interactive community group. It captured over 1200 students worldwide and provided a platform to spotlight several other leading IFS teachers and applications of this unique modality.

Diane Poole Heller

During nearly a decade of working together, we helped this trauma specialist become one of the world’s most recognized therapists teaching online. As our first client, our business began in response to her needs: a medical scare meant she had to drastically reduce her travel, so we worked with her to launch an online version of her DARe (Dynamic Attachment Re-Patterning experience) series on adult attachment. It was one of the first online therapy courses led by an individual, and it was a great success.

After enrolling nearly 300 people in that first course, we continued to innovate programs and products for her rapidly growing audience: a community membership site, specialized programs in collaboration with other teachers, and expanded online versions of her DARe program. During our years together, we helped grow her email list by a factor of 50 and greatly increased her revenue, all while allowing her to avoid excessive travel.
